We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Solicitor to join our team of trade mark and branding experts at AJ Park in Wellington. You’ll have upward of 3 years' PQE with a desire to further your career in the world of intellectual property.

This is a newly created role in a skilled and established team that manages a large trade mark practice with matters for local and international clients. Our clients span a variety of industries and sectors, ranging from emerging innovators through to large corporates. You will have the opportunity to work on some cool subject matter with experts in their field, supporting some of the world’s largest and most exciting brands, as well as some of the most innovative businesses in New Zealand.

 

The Role

  • Client portfolio management

  • Conducting and reporting on trade mark searches

  • Filing and prosecuting trade mark applications

  • Proactively assisting clients and looking for new business opportunities

  • Providing domain name services

  • Preparation for opposition proceedings

  • Recordal of assignments, licenses and similar changes

  • Preparing evidence of use

  • General trade mark advice

  • Meeting financial targets – day book, WIP, debtors, billable and non-billable hours

  • Liaising with clients, IPONZ, and IP Australia

  • Building your professional profile through LinkedIn and other industry platforms

  • Adhering to the AJ Park Quality Management Procedures

  • Any other duties as reasonably required
