Kat brings her wealth of cross-industry experience to her role supporting AJ Park’s Auckland trade marks team.
Expertise
Kat joined AJ Park’s Auckland trade marks team as a paralegal in February 2014. Her role involves filing and registering local and international trade mark applications, as well as managing clients’ trade mark portfolios and budgets. Kat works predominantly for one of AJ Park’s larger clients, running the organisation’s trade mark budgets and helping with the implementation of a worldwide filing programme.
I love that no two days are the same and I gain real satisfaction from doing the best job for a client. I also love the rapport I have with my co-workers who enjoy a laugh but are also brilliant at what they do.
Experience
Kat has a wide range of skills and experience to draw on. She has worked in finance, insurance, building and real estate, and even oversaw teams of local volunteers creating a manmade lake for the Ashburton Aquatic Park Charitable Trust.
In 1999, Kat moved to London where she worked for a property consultancy firm for eight years, returning briefly to Ashburton and her first foray into the legal world. She subsequently shifted to Sydney and completed her legal executive diploma while working in the mergers and acquisitions team of a large global law firm. She is now based in Auckland and enjoying the culture of innovation and authenticity at AJ Park.
Working style
Fun-loving with a great sense of humour, Kat is extremely well-liked by AJ Park’s clients and staff alike. Her ability to think logically and focus on details coupled with her previous legal-industry experience make her perfectly suited to her role.
‘Under promise and over deliver’ is one of Kat’s personal mantras, and she values open communication and a good rapport with her clients. Kat counts her father as her most important role model, who taught her the importance of hard work, a positive outlook, and taking ownership of her projects.
