AJ Park is proud to announce that we have become a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), joining a global movement to advance gender equality in the workplace, marketplace, and community. As one of 46 signatories in New Zealand, this commitment reinforces our dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where everyone can thrive.
The WEPs, established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, provide a framework for businesses to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. The framework sets out seven Principles:
- High-level corporate leadership
- Treat all women and men fairly at work without discrimination
- Employee health, well-being and safety
- Education and training for career advancement
- Enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices
- Community initiatives and advocacy
- Measurement and reporting.
By aligning with these principles, AJ Park continues its commitment to ensuring fair and equal opportunities for our people. Signing the WEPs marks the next phase of our journey where we can build on the previous work done within a structured framework. We are actively working to embed these principles into our company policies, leadership development programs, and overall business strategy. Initiatives such as launching a gender-neutral enhanced parental leave policy, as part of a comprehensive review focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), will enable us to achieve our goal of creating meaningful change that benefits everyone.
At AJ Park, we know that fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s essential for innovation and success. Becoming a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where everyone, regardless of gender, can reach their full potential. We are proud to be part of this movement and look forward to making a lasting impact.
